Budget airline launches cheap flights to Orlando from £149.99 for 2022

Brits planning Florida holidays can now snap up cheap flights to Orlando from £149.99 thanks to a new budget airline.

Icelandic airline PLAY is expanding its UK routes with new services from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which includes services to Orlando from £149.99 each way.

The route will include a stop in Reykjavik where passengers can choose to either extend their trip with a visit to Iceland, or fly straight on to the US after a 1 hour 35 minute stop over in the Icelandic capital.

The new Liverpool flights will kick off from November 2022, and will operate for the airline's winter schedule through to April 2023, making it ideal for families after a February half term getaway, or holidaymakers looking to travel outside of the school holiday dates.

While Orlando doesn't have a reputation for being a budget-friendly break, the good news is that there are ways to help keep costs down.

For example, we've rounded up the best Walt Disney World deals and Universal Orlando deals including discounts on everything from tickets to combination packages so you can hit all of the biggest theme parks.

Meanwhile, you can currently get a fair bit of bang for your buck, as according to recent research by the Post Office, Orlando's one of the best value destinations for Brits in 2022.

The study compared 36 popular holiday destinations on a range of factors including costs for the likes of a cup of coffee, three-course evening meal for two, and bottles of beer or glasses of wine.

Orlando's not the only US destination on offer for Brits. Earlier this year, PLAY announced a new service to New York City, flying between London Stansted and New York Stewart International Airport, which included fares from £139 each way.

PLAY also offers up plenty more USA holidays inspiration as the airline also operates flights to Boston and Baltimore/Washington.
