A live-in chef is being sought to whip up vegan meals for the King.
The monarch follows the diet one day a week when he avoids eating meat, fish and dairy for environmental reasons.
To ensure he enjoys the tastiest food possible, a Premier Sous Chef is being advertised for at Buckingham Palace to support the head chef.
The successful candidate’s food will be enjoyed not only by the monarch, but also staff and guests at grand state banquets attended by the monarch.
The job advert reads: “This job is truly like no other.
”As Premier Sous Chef you'll help to lead a team of talented professionals in the Royal Kitchens.
“Supporting the Head Chef, you'll oversee day-to-day operations, and whether its staff lunches or a grand State Banquet, you'll ensure every meal is delivered to the highest of standards.
“Joining a team of thirty and operating from six different residences, the scope and variety this role offers is second to none.
“You'll develop and prepare diverse menus and source the very best Seasonal ingredients, as well as helping to manage stock levels and co-ordinate staff rotas.
“You'll motivate and inspire those around you, monitoring the performance and development of a highly competent team, as well as recruiting and training new members.”
As well as impressive knife skills and plant-based knowledge, the new hire will need people management skills to organise the kitchen.
The listing continues: “You're a highly qualified and skilled chef, with experience at a senior level from a fine dining or five star catering operation.
“With good knowledge of classical cuisine, and of the food industry in general, you're adept at planning and developing menus for a wide range of occasions, including fine dining and volume catering.
“You have excellent people management skills, and you're used to empowering and motivating a large team.
“It's essential that you can plan, organise and delegate effectively, as you and your team will be delivering for very varied occasions, across several sites.”
As well as going vegan one day a week, the King also opts for vegetarian options two days of the week.
In a 2021 interview with the BBC, the King said: “The business of what we eat is, of course, important.
”For years I haven't eaten meat and fish on two days a week.
”And I don't eat dairy products on one day a week.
”If more did that, you reduce a lot of the pressure on the environment.”
Charles’ former press secretary Julian Payne previously revealed his ex-boss never stops for lunch and has a breakfast of fruit and seeds.
Despite rumours the King is served a line of eggs to choose from every morning, Mr Payne said: "I never saw a single boiled egg at breakfast in all the years I worked there.
“The King doesn’t eat lunch; so, an early lesson I learnt when out on the road with him was to have a big breakfast or bring a few snack bars with you to keep you going.
“The working day is pretty relentless. Beginning with the radio news headlines and a breakfast of seasonal fruit salad and seeds with tea.”
