The New York Mets are one of the betting favorites to win the World Series.
That is particularly exciting as we near the end of MLB’s regular season, especially because the Mets have won the championship just twice since they first became a franchise in 1962.
There are a lot of reasons to root for the Mets this season, but manager Buck Showalter (who is legitimately hilarious) provided yet another over this past weekend.
As noted by MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo, the 66-year-old manager hinted that he would “dye his hair” if his team is able to win the championship this season.
Buck Showalter just strongly indicated he will dye his hair if the Mets win the World Series.

Showalter, a veteran who has won American League Manager of the Year in three different decades, clearly knows how to get his team pumped up.
But as a fan, I’m all about this idea as well. In fact, in an effort to help, I’ve decided to provide some suggestions for what color Showalter should choose if the Mets do end up playing in the October Classic and winning it all.
1
Blue
Blue is the color that makes the most sense for Buck Showalter. It is one of the primary colors of the Mets, and it would also allow him to match with his star shortstop Francisco Lindor.
2
Orange
The other primary color of the Mets, orange, would also work for Showalter. I like this pick because it also honors the late Rusty Staub, also known by the nickname Le Grand Orange. Staub was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame in 1986.
3
Apple Red
While orange may make more sense given the team colors, apple red would also work for Showalter. Because the Mets play in The Big Apple and The Home Run Apple rises at Citi Field whenever the Mets hit a home run, apple red would befit Showalter.
4
Frosted Tips
This one may be tougher to pull off but I would be so happy if Showalter decided to dye his hair a darker color and then rock bleached blonde frosted tips, much like Mike Piazza did back in 2001. Showalter, a natural blonde, would look great with the boy-band vibe.
