The Atlanta Falcons have another tough game in Week 5 when they host the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night football. Just like last week, the Falcons appear to have the advantage health-wise.
On Wednesday, the Buccaneers released their final injury report and ruled out five players, including safety Antoine Winfield and defensive lineman Calijah Kancey.
Tampa Bay will also be without starting offensive tackle Luke Goedeke, wide receiver Jalen McMillan and Trey Palmer in Week 5. The Falcons have one potentially serious injury with linebacker Troy Andersen (knee) unlikely to play after missing the first two days of practice.
Running back Bijan Robinson was listed as limited on Monday and Tuesday, but we can’t read too much into his status since it’s a short week and the injury reports are simulated.
Robinson is coming off an underwhelming performance against the Saints in Week 4. The second-year running back rushed for just 28 yards on seven carries. Tyler Allgeier outplayed Robinson, rushing for 60 yards on eight total carries.
The Falcons will need both running backs to do their part to defeat a talented Buccaneers team in Week 5. Thursday night’s game begins at 8:15 p.m. ET inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
