Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles made his opinion about Baker Mayfield clear before signing

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles has been a fan of his new quarterback, Baker Mayfield, since 2018 after he was drafted to the Cleveland Browns.

Free agent Mayfield, 27, has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Buccaneers worth up to $8.5million (£7m). Mayfield's arrival in the Sunshine State comes after a tough few seasons in the NFL.

In the 2022 offseason, Mayfield was traded by the Browns for Deshaun Watson and joined the Carolina Panthers - but failed to make an impact in the seven games he played. Mayfield attempted 206 passes with 119 completions for 1,313 yards, six touchdowns, and six interceptions.
