BTS Just Set a Record No Other Act Has Touched at SoFi Stadium. Next Stop: South America.

Four sold-out SoFi Stadium shows gave BTS the record for most concerts and largest cumulative crowd in the venue's history, closing out a 31-show North American run that Billboard now ranks as the top-grossing trek in vocal-group touring history — with Bogotá, Lima and Buenos Aires about to host the group for the very first time.

  • BTS wrapped the ARIRANG World Tour's North American run with four sold-out SoFi Stadium shows (Sept. 1, 2, 5 and 6), pushing its combined attendance at the venue to roughly 496,000 across eight total concerts — the most by any act in SoFi Stadium's history.
  • Across the full North American run, 31 shows in a dozen cities over five months drew an estimated 1.92 million fans, with every date selling out, according to agency BigHit Music.
  • Billboard Boxscore now credits the tour with $433.2 million in gross revenue and 2.3 million tickets sold through 38 reported shows as of mid-August — far above the $124 million figure widely cited from the tour's opening weeks.
  • BTS heads next to South America, where 14 shows across five countries beginning Oct. 2 in Bogotá will mark the group's first-ever performances in Colombia, Peru and Argentina.

Eight Shows, One Shared Record

BTS has finished the ARIRANG World Tour's North American stretch carrying a number no other act can claim inside SoFi Stadium: roughly 496,000 combined fans across eight total concerts at the Inglewood venue, now the largest cumulative crowd and the most shows played there by a single group, according to figures the septet's label, BigHit Music, released this week.

The milestone capped four sold-out nights in Los Angeles, played September 1, 2, 5 and 6, closing out a run that had kept BTS on North American stages for five months. Those four shows alone pulled in upward of 282,000 concertgoers, filling out the roughly 70,000-seat configuration the stadium uses for concerts.

The current SoFi tally builds on a foundation the group laid back in 2021, when its four-night "Permission to Dance on Stage" residency became one of the first full-scale concerts staged at the then-new venue. Add this month's four ARIRANG dates and BTS has now played the stadium eight times, more than any other touring act, with a combined audience BigHit Music says stands above any other group's total there.

North America's Final Tally, Checked Against the Agency

Across the full continental run, BigHit Music counted a dozen host cities and 31 sold-out dates in all, opening in Tampa and passing through New York, Mexico City and El Paso, among other stops, before closing in Los Angeles. Every date sold out in advance, and the agency puts total attendance at roughly 1.92 million over the five months on the road. The four closing shows in Los Angeles were also streamed live on the fan platform Weverse, reaching audiences in 177 countries.

The Los Angeles run carried its own emotional undercurrent. September 1 doubled as Jungkook's birthday, marked inside the stadium with a gold-toned tribute tied to his solo record "Golden." RM's birthday falls six days later, on September 12, after the tour had already left town, so fans got ahead of the calendar: during the final show on September 6, the stadium turned blue in honor of his album "Indigo" as the crowd sang to him early. During a performance of "Body to Body," a song built around the traditional folk melody "Arirang," a sea of South Korean flags went up as fans sang along with the crowd. Reflecting on the run's end, J-Hope told the audience, "we were waiting for this North American tour for so long."

Los Angeles marked the occasion formally, too: the city declared September 1 through 8 "BTS Week," lighting City Hall red to match the cover art of the group's new album.

A Financial Record That Has Outgrown Its Own Headlines

Early coverage of the tour's earnings, drawn from Billboard Boxscore figures reported in May, put the ARIRANG World Tour at $124 million in gross revenue and 660,000 tickets sold through its first ten dates. That figure was accurate at the time, but it is no longer close to where the tour stands. Billboard's more recent Boxscore reporting, covering shows through August 11, credits the tour with $433.2 million in gross revenue and 2.3 million tickets sold across 38 reported concerts, a total that puts ARIRANG atop the all-time earnings list for any vocal group's tour, surpassing prior benchmarks set by the Backstreet Boys and BLACKPINK's Born Pink run. Billboard has also reported the tour pushed BTS' career touring earnings past half a billion dollars by the end of May, with organizers projecting more than three million tickets sold once the full 88-date schedule wraps in early 2027.

The tour's pull in Latin America was already visible before this month's Los Angeles shows. During three Mexico City concerts in May, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum invited the group to the National Palace, drawing a crowd of about 50,000 admirers who waited outside for a glimpse of the band.

South America Is Next, and for Three Countries, This Is a First

BTS resumes the tour on October 2 in Bogotá, where two nights at Estadio El Campín will mark the group's first-ever concerts in Colombia. The tour then moves to Lima's Estadio San Marcos for three dates, October 7, 9 and 10 — also the group's first visit to Peru — before three shows in Santiago on October 14, 16 and 17. Buenos Aires follows with three dates at Estadio Único de La Plata, October 21, 23 and 24, marking the group's first performances in Argentina as well. The South American leg closes with three consecutive nights in São Paulo, October 28, 30 and 31, bringing the total to 14 shows across five countries. That detail runs counter to some early framing of the leg as simply a "return" to the region: for Bogotá, Lima and Buenos Aires specifically, there is no prior BTS show to return to.

For an industry that spent nearly three years wondering whether K-pop's biggest act could pick up where it left off once all seven members finished mandatory military service, the numbers coming out of Los Angeles answer the question directly: a broken venue record, a tour now outpacing every other vocal act in Boxscore history, and ticket demand in Bogotá, Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo that organizers expect to move just as fast as it did in North America.
