BT now offering half-price broadband to users in latest money-saving deal

If you don't want to pay full price for lightning-fast internet this year, then it's time to switch broadband providers, or look into your deal with BT. The broadband company is now offering a huge discount for the next five months in its latest money-saving deal, reports the Mirror.

Anybody with their eyes on the internet service providers plans will be able to secure a massive saving, slashing the cost of surfing the net, streaming series and gaming online. But, there must be a catch to this BT deal, surely?

Only those who life in a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) area will be able to benefit from this cracking deal, available on BT's Full Fibre 100, 500 or 900 plans. If you are in the area for this deal, then prices will begin from as little as £17 - on the Full Fibre 100 plan.

So, read on below to find out how to make the most of the deal, and save as much as £87 between now and the end of the year.

Who is eligible for this BT deal?

Any customer who lives in a FTTP area and who takes out one of BT's three Full Fibre plans will get 50 per cent off their price for the first five months.

The best deal comes with the most expensive deal, of course, the Full Fibre 900 plan.

The Full Fibre 900 Plan

This plan, which will cost £27.49 a month after discount, is the fastest internet plan offered by BT, and will allow people to stream, play, watch and explore the internet on multiple devices at the same time - all at the same speed.

After the five months, the price will rise to its usual price, at £54.99 a month, for the remaining 19 months of the contract.

Customers will also be handed a £29.99 upfront fee - which covers the activation fee and the cost of shipping the equipment.

Despite this fee, customers will still be receiving a saving of £137.45 between now and the new year.

The Full Fibre 500 Plan

Next up and with a total five-month saving of £112.45 is BT's Full Fibre 500 plan with its smaller upload speed of 73MB.

This deal is also perfect for streaming, gaming and watching online, with the speed of 500Mbs fast enough to keep 20 devices going at one time without lag.

After the 50 per cent discount period, this price goes up to £44.99 a month, but of course, the speeds don't change.

The Full Fibre 100 Plan

The final plan, the Full Fibre 100, typically costs £34.99 a month - but new users will get this deal for just £17.49 for the first five months.

Despite the £10 difference between this deal and the 500 plan, the 100 plan can still run six devices all in the one go.

Why should I bother upgrading to Full Fibre?

When compared to a standard copper broadband connection, FTTP broadband allows for quicker speeds and a wider bandwidth.

This will boost the reliability of the connection, and the download rates.

For example, those on copper connection will get a maximum speed of around 76Mbps. On the other hand, FTTP connection can reach speeds over 900Mbps.

That's why the majority of customers with this improved connection experience less buffering, fewer streaming issues and can use multiple devices without getting lag.
