BSF shoots down Pak drone, recovers around 30 kg of heroin in Punjab

AMRITSAR: Border Security Force (BSF) troops recovered around 30 kg heroin from near India-Pakistan international border in Punjab while they managed to shoot down one Pak drone close to the border in Pak area which was however taken away by the Pakistan Rangers taking advantage of a thick layer of fog.

BSF Inspector General, Punjab Frontier, Asif Jalal informed that BSF troops deployed near the village Gatti Ajaib Singh in the Fazilka district observed some suspicious movement following which they opened fire towards Pakistani smugglers ahead of the border fence.

"Taking advantage of a thick layer of fog, they (Pak smugglers) managed to run away but we cordoned off the entire area and carried out the search operation along with concerned sister agencies," he said.
