In the Science stream, Samastipur’s Aditya Prakash Aman topped the state with 96.20%, becoming the only male student to secure a first-place position in any stream. Sakshi Kumari and Sita Kumari secured the second position in Science.
The Arts stream topper is Nishu Kumari from Gaya, who scored 95.8%, while Sidhi Shukla from Sitamarhi, Chandradeep Kumar from Lakhisarai, and Mohammed Zaki Ansari from Purnia shared the second position.
In Commerce, Aditi Kumari from Patna claimed the top spot, with Mahi Kumari, also from Patna, finishing second. The Commerce topper scored a total of 480 marks.
This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 85.19%, slightly lower than last year’s 86.56%. In 2024, the pass percentage was marginally higher at 87.21%. Stream-wise, Commerce recorded the highest pass rate at 94.88%, followed by Science at 87.80% and Arts at 86.15%.
The results were officially announced at a press conference held at the BSEB office by Minister Sunil Kumar. BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore and Dr. B. Rajendra, Upper Chief Secretary, were also present.
The Class 12 board exams were conducted from February 2 to February 13, 2026, in two shifts: 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Students were given a 15-minute cool-down period before each exam—between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. for the first shift and 2:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for the second shift.
