Brydon Carse axed from England Test squad after being handcuffed by police outside nightclub

  • England seam bowler Brydon Carse has been dropped from the squad for the second Test against Pakistan after being handcuffed by police outside a nightclub in Derby.
  • The Cricket Regulator has launched an investigation into the incident, which took place on Saturday night following Durham's County Championship victory over Derbyshire.
  • The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed Carse will be unavailable for selection while the investigation is ongoing, with fast bowler Sonny Baker called up to replace him in the 16-man squad.
  • Carse has not played Test cricket for England since the Ashes after sustaining a hand injury in training, and he was unlikely to feature in the starting lineup at Lord's this Thursday.
  • The controversy brings renewed scrutiny to player conduct following a series of recent alcohol-related incidents involving fellow England cricketers including Ben Stokes, Gus Atkinson, and Harry Brook.
