Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe shared a long, heartwarming hug after Alabama narrowly beat Texas A&M

No. 1 Alabama narrowly survived an exciting upset attempt from Texas A&M on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium, winning 24-20 in a game that came down to the last play.

But the Crimson Tide defense managed to keep the Aggies out of the end zone, even when the last snap was taken two yards shy of the goal line.

It was an especially big win for the Crimson Tide because they were playing without starting quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, who was injured last week in Alabama’s win over Arkansas and is still experiencing “shoulder soreness in his throwing arm,” per ESPN.

Young was dressed for the game and initially announced as the starter, but freshman quarterback Jalen Milroe — who filled in for Young against the Razorbacks – ended up getting the start. Although Alabama relied heavily on its ground game to beat Texas A&M, Milroe completed 12-of-19 passes for 111 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while running for 83 more yards.

After the Crimson Tide escaped a second consecutive loss to Texas A&M, Young and Milroe found each other on the field and shared a heartwarming and long hug.

The stadium was way too loud to pick up anything these two may have said to each other in that moment, but it was a special moment nonetheless.

Alabama advanced to 6-0 on the season, while Texas A&M dropped to 3-3.
