Bryan Gil responds to Tottenham transfer exit rumours amid talk of La Liga return

Bryan Gil has seemingly played down rumours that he's unhappy in north London with a recent post on social media site Twitter.

A report from Mundo Deportivo had suggested that the Andalusian winger wanted to leave Tottenham Hotspur 'at all costs' because he isn't happy with his new surroundings.

Mundo Deportivo claimed that he's having a hard time adapting to life in England, where the culture is different to that in Spain.

However, in news that will delight Spurs fans, Gil has suggested that the report is simply untrue. In response to Mundo Deportivo posting the report on Twitter, the Spaniard simply replied: "????"

The question marks were followed by a laughing emoji which suggests that the information is very much new news to him.

Spanish publication Marca claimed earlier this week that La Liga duo Valencia and Real Sociedad, as well as Ligue 1 outfit Nice, enquired about the winger's availability as a result of his lack of playing time in a Spurs shirt.

Gil moved to Tottenham in the summer transfer window, completing a €25million (£21.1m) switch from La Liga outfit Sevilla - a deal that also saw Erik Lamela swap north London for Andalusia.

He's not exactly had the start he would've hoped for, but at just 20 years of age, he's still got plenty of time to improve and may well establish himself as a regular under Antonio Conte if he progresses well.

Gil has made 20 appearances in all competitions, but only eight substitute cameos in the Premier League, and is yet to score.
