Bryan Gil handed boost after Tottenham transfer window exit and Antonio Conte's admission

Bryan Gil made the move to Tottenham in the summer transfer window last year, when involved in a swap deal with Erik Lamela.

The 21-year-old made 20 appearances for Spurs before he made the loan move back to his home country, in the January window.

Gil is now playing for Valencia until the end of the season, with the Spanish side currently sitting 12th in La Liga, losing eight of their 24 games so far.

It has been a busy few weeks since his move with the youngster already making four appearances for his new side, two in the league and two in the Copa del Rey, with Gil being in the starting 11 in three of the four matches.

After beating Cadiz 2-1 in the quarter finals of the Spanish cup competition, Jose Bordalas praised the new addition.

"Bryan Gil is a difference maker," he explained after the wingers first feature. "He was very excited and played really well. He has trained very little with the team, but he was very good."

After his temporary move was confirmed, Gil explained how he believed the return to Spain would help him.

"I think it [Bordalás’ style] will help me a lot," he admitted (Sport via Sport Witness). "I hope to grow as a player and contribute to the maximum to the coach and the team. I want to gain a little more experience and work a lot.

"I come here to give everything, to make the fans and the club enjoy themselves. I’m sure we’re going to do great things."

Earlier this month Antonio Conte spoke to the media about the two first team players who went on loan along with Gil (Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso).

"About the players that went on loan, they need to play more games," he said. "I think it was right for both sides, the club and the players. These players needed to play more games."

Spurs saw the signings of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski on the final day of the winter window and if the loanees had remained in north London, they would've struggled to break into the Italian's regular line-up, more than they already were.

Gil was one of these players struggling for regular match minutes and when he was given the chance, although he showed glimpses of potential, he highlighted his need for improved strength in order to succeed in the Premier League.

In Conte's most recent interview, he spoke further about young players at Spurs.

"I think we are doing a lot but I am realising being inside the situation that it will take time and patience because there are many young players even at their first experience in the Premier League who need to grow, gain experience and raise their level," he explained.

This would seem to relate to the likes of Gil whose move to Tottenham was his first taste of English football, a big step for anyone, let alone someone of his age.

As the 52-year-old indicates, players like the Spaniard may need time and experience before they are ready for the prospect of playing in the Premier League, week in week out.

Gil has already begun getting this game time and experience with his new side and the Spanish newspaper Sport have already praised the 21-year-old.

In the translated article the report suggests the winger has been "Valencia's most outstanding footballer" after just a handful of appearances.

The article also praises the youngsters skill in terms of his pace, bravery and confidence and some reports are suggesting that Valencia would already be open to extending his loan.

After less than a month at Valencia it already seems like the Spaniard is benefitting from his loan move and it could be just what he needs before a return to N17.

If Gil can add some strength to his game, continue to develop and gain more experience with regular game time which he probably wouldn't have had he stayed at Spurs, Conte may be open to giving him more of a chance upon his return.
