Brutal monkey gang are ‘unstoppable’ as victims rise to 42 leaving baby mutilated

A brutal crazed monkey gang are becoming 'unstoppable' as the amount of victims left with injuries has risen to 42.

Residents in Yamaguchi, Japan have been left covered in scratches and bites - with a mutilated baby the latest victim.

The violence shows no signs of showing down as the Japanese authorities are starting to use tranquilliser guns to help control the wild gang.

Police have been called after adults and children reported injuries prompting cops to patrol the streets to help reassure concerned residents.

The first attack from the brutal monkey gang happened in early July - but authorities have been left unable to catch the out of control monkeys - with the attacks still happening.

Although the Japanese monkeys are often seen across the country, it is thought the assaults and attacks on locals is rare.

An official from the agricultural department said: "All of Yamaguchi city is surrounded by mountains and it’s not rare to see monkeys.

"But it’s rare to see this many attacks in a short period of time."

The attacks continued over the weekend as at least eight people were targeted.

One terrifying incident included one monkey launching itself through a car window and attacking a teenage girl.

A baby was even attacked after the monkey opened a fly screen and scratched them.

The baby's mum told local TV: "I was vacuuming in the living room and heard the sound of my baby crying loudly.

"When I went in to check there was a monkey pulling the baby across the floor as if trying to make off with it."

"It’s pretty scary that the monkey can open fly screens and just get into homes.

"I would like to see it caught as soon as possible."

The injuries in Japan have been haven't been too serious so far, but officials believe the monkeys are not targeting specific groups as reported victims vary.

Officials are unsure whether it's one monkey doing all the damage or whether they are part of a wider group.

Police have been strolling the streets looking for the suspect but they still can't be sure whether it's the same monkey.

Cops even launched an appeal for one monkey after it managed to make its way into a school and scratch a young girl on July 11.

Another girl was targeted in a nursery when the monkey climbed through the toilet window and bit the sleeping girl on the foot.

There were also reports of an elderly woman being attacked by a monkey after putting out her washing on the balcony.
