Pearly King was revealed to Bruno Tonioli be during The Masked Dancer final today.
The former Strictly judge was part of the last three to be unmasked during tonight's final, hosted by Joel Dommett. The four panellists – Davina McCall, Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross and Peter Crouch – all had their detective hats on as they tried to work out who it might be.
Pearly King has impressed so far this series with a variety of dances including a jazz routine to Youngblood by 5 Seconds Of Summer as well as a modern stomp to House of Fun by Madness. They have also danced a samba to Hard to Handle by Otis Redding.
Later in the final, Coyote Ugly actor Adam Garcia was revealed to be Onomatopoeia and Glee star Heather Morris was crowned winner, after she was revealed to be Scissors.
Various names had been thrown into the ring so far for the identity of Pearly King, with some guessing it could be former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli. Others suggested it might be EastEnders actor Danny Dyer or even his co-star Shane Richie.
The EastEnders suggestions had come from an early clue, which hinted the person was somehow connected to the East End of London. They started their VT by saying: "'Ello Govner, it's your marker, Pearly King. Welcome to the streets of London.
"The Pearly King is part of a normal traditional theatre. We're honest and not afraid of hard work to get to where we are. Let me tell you, being Pearly King, it's nice to try on another character full size. People can confuse you with the person they see onscreen."
There were also references to being on television – but also that they could be seen on DVD.
The clue package revealed: "But I know what you're all thinking, 'Haven't I seen you before in the old costal on telly?' That might be true. But you've probably also seen me on this DVD."
Some also thought there could be a link with I'm A Celebrity as the star had said: "The panel thought I might be the king of the jungle."
Bruno was the first finalist to be unmasked in the final this evening.
Of signing up to the show thinking it was The Masked Singer, he joked after the unveiling, "I said, 'Singer, oh yeah I’ll do it. Dancer?? You’ve got to be kidding me!' You should always read your contract."
Speaking about not keeping up the London accent, he laughed to host Joel Dommett: "It’s hard work to talk like that mate!"
He added of his character: "It had such swagger, it's good doing something so out of your comfort zone."
Speaking about The Pearly King, Bruno said "I loved him, it was great to be able to play him. A great personality, the character just took over. "
