Here is the latest on Newcastle United's pursuit of Lyon central-midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Medical passed
Bruno Guimaraes is understood to have passed his medical ahead of his sensational move to Newcastle United.
The deal is yet to be announced by the Magpies and Lyon but the clubs are confident that it will be concluded.
A Newcastle delegation, led by head of recruitment Steve Nickson, have spent the last two days in Brazil with his medical taking place in Belo Horizonte.

Newcastle have beaten some heavyweight clubs to Bruno's signature including Arsenal and Juventus.
'Hard work'
Eddie Howe has revealed that Newcastle United are doing 'a lot of hard work' to make a 'couple' more signings in the final days of the window.
Newcastle are pushing to sign Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and are still in the market for at least one quality centre-back before the window shuts on Monday night.
The reality is, though, that if the right player suddenly became available in another position that was not originally earmarked as a priority, the club are prepared to act.
Lyon statement
Newcastle United still hope to push through their purchase of Bruno Guimarães - despite Lyon's decision to release a statement after news broke of the Magpies' £33.5million bid.
The midfielder is scheduled to have a medical on Friday in South America after Brazil's clash with Ecuador.
And after conflicting details of the 24-year-old's price tag emerged on Wednesday, French football experts have pointed to Lyon's usual policy in situations like this.
Lyon had said today: "Olympique Lyonnais categorically denies the false information disseminated by many media reporting an agreement between Newcastle and OL for the transfer of Brazilian international midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
"In this transfer window period where the slightest rumour is often presented as reality, Olympique Lyonnais reminds that only information officially released by the club is to be taken into consideration."
Arsenal interest
Newcastle United are hoping to pip Arsenal to the signature of Bruno Guimaraes in what would be a sensational £33.5million deal from Lyon.
The 24-year-old still needs to agree personal terms and complete a medical - which is set to take place in South America - but Newcastle sources have stated that things are moving "positively" to completion.
United have been understandably cautious on incoming deals and have tried to work quietly in the background given some clubs are trying to take advantage of their perceived status as the world's richest clubs.
Scout report
As the January transfer window approaches its closure, Newcastle United look set to be one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League before the end of the month.
The Magpies are linked with a number of players from Jesse Lingard to Diego Carlos to Dele Alli to Nat Phillips, with Bruno Guimaraes rumoured to be the latest on the club's shortlist.
Guimaraes is quite the talent, and he's been tipped for moves to Arsenal and Chelsea in the past, with the Toon reportedly willing to pay around £35m for his services.
The Lyon midfielder is a very active contributor in Ligue 1. Still just 24 years-old, he's well-rounded and offers specific qualities when in possession of the ball.
