It didn't take long for Manchester United fans to discover why Lisandro Martinez had been nicknamed 'The Butcher' during his time with Ajax, but Bruno Fernandes' adaptation of the nickname - 'My Butcher' - shows just how much he means to the Reds.
The nickname was given to Martinez because of his strong defensive attributes and has since been adopted by the United faithful. However, the Argentina star recently admitted he couldn't remember who came up with the name.
Martinez explained: "I don’t know why at Ajax they called me 'The Butcher'. I don’t even remember who gave me the nickname.

"It must be because I’m aggressive in the way I play my game. I did once make a vacuum (a cut of Argentinian beef) in my house, so in one way the nickname suits me.
"But the truth is that I do go to each challenge like it is going to be my last one. Having said that, I have greatly improved the way I read the game and how to make decisions."
The 25-year-old played a key role as United made it through to the next round of the Europa League on Thursday with a win over Barcelona. Clearly overjoyed at the result, Martinez took to Instagram to express his delight. His post, which Fernandes posted 'My Butcher' in response to, read: "What a night.
"The teamwork, the character, the rocking stands... Manchester United." Fernandes was by no means the only player, past or present, to reply to the defender's Instagram post.
Marcus Rashford responded with a red love heart emoji while Patrice Evra called the World Cup winner 'incredible'. Casemiro and Aaron Wan-Bissaka also shared their appreciation for the Argentina international.
