Bruno Fernandes thinks Manchester United showed attitude, passion and character to beat Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Fernandes was among those at the club to receive criticism after United suffered embarrassing defeats against Brighton and Brentford, but the midfielder bounced back along with his teammates against Liverpool to inspire the Reds to a memorable win.
United beat Liverpool 2-1 on Monday thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, and it was the perfect response to an awful two weeks. Fernandes looked back to his best in midfield and he wore the captain's armband in Harry Maguire's absence.

The 27-year-old spoke to MUTV after Monday's win and he described the mentality of the dressing room at the club.
"Obviously a great night and a great result, something that we expect," Fernandes said. "To get these three points is massive for us, but now this game is done we have to look forward with this attitude, this passion, this character that we showed today.
"The attitude that we had today, the passion that we showed, the desire to win the game. Not that we didn't show it before, but I think in the last two games we could have added something more and I think today was the day we showed all of that together.
"It was amazing, from the back to the forward guys it was a great game. We conceded a goal still, which we don't want, we want David [De Gea] to keep the clean sheets, but in the end, it was about getting three points.
"Even the players who didn't play today, they did a great job to push all the ones who played today and that is the mindset for the team, that everyone is included, everyone is part of the team, even when they don't play they have a part to play."
Fernandes was also asked about the signing of Casemiro and he admitted his mentality will be welcomed by the dressing room.
"I think Casemiro is a great player who will do great things for us and we are really happy to have him," Fernandes added. "We know that he has a good mentality, he shows this at Real Madrid and we're hoping for him to come and do it at the same level."
