Gabby Agbonlahor has slammed Bruno Fernandes in the wake of Manchester United's chastening 4-0 defeat against Brentford - dubbing the Portuguese midfielder as the "worst teammate" in a scathing rant.
Fernandes was part of the United team that slumped to a heavy defeat in west London on Saturday evening. David de Gea dropped two major clangers early in the match to gift the Bees a two-goal lead courtesy of Josh DaSilva and Mathias Jensen before Ben Mee nodded home a third goal. Bryan Mbuemo completed the first-half rout in the 35th minute to cap a memorable evening for the Londoners.
It's been a nightmare start to life in the Premier League for Erik ten Hag, who saw his side humbled by Brighton last weekend. And while many names have been singled out for criticism in recent months at Manchester United, Agbonlahor believes that Fernandes has somehow escaped scrutiny.
Fernandes made an instant impact at Old Trafford after joining the club for an initial £46.6million from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, netting eight times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
The 27-year-old kicked on and evolved into one of Solskjaer's most important players the following year, where he plundered 28 goals in all competitions. However, his influence has notably waned over the past 12 months and he failed to replicate those returns under Ralf Rangnick at the tail-end of last season.
And Agbonlahor, who pinpointed Fernandes' poor body language during the match, is adamant that the midfielder gets off lightly compared to other United stars, including the recently departed Paul Pogba and current club captain Harry Maguire.

The former Aston Villa man told talkSPORT: "For me, Fernandes, since he's been in the Premier League, yes he's had great stats, goalscoring and assists but he looks like the worst teammate. Every time a player gives it away, every time he gives it away, he throws his arms up at his teammates, he throws his arms up at the bench.
"I've played with players like him, you'd be fuming at him. He'll press now and then. If that was Paul Pogba they would be slaughtering Pogba in the media. Fernandes gets away with murder. Did you see Fernandes do anything? It's easy to say Maguire, Ronaldo, Rashford, Sancho.
"Fernandes, for me, I can't remember the last time he had a decent game. He's always the one that's throwing his arms up in the air. Even when he gives it away. He could pass it to you but pass it out of play and he'd blame you. That's the sort of player Fernandes is. The worst possible teammate."
