Bruce Willis has been feeling "so much happiness" since becoming a first-time grandad amid his battle with dementia.
The 68-year-old actor became a grandparent last month when his daughter Rumer Willis, who he shares with ex-wife Demi Moore, gave birth to her baby girl Louetta Isley Thomas Willis.
Bruce is said to be a "doting caretaker" to his newborn granddaughter, who is "such a blessing" for the family, according to a source.
"This baby feels heaven-sent. She's brought Bruce so much happiness," they said.
Rumer confirmed that her daughter was born at home and told her Instagram followers that Louetta is "more than we ever dreamed of".
The source said Bruce is trying to "make the most of life" as he spends time with his family.
"Seeing Bruce as a grandpa is the sweetest thing. He's always been so good with babies.
"He's been making the most of life, but there are challenges. There are tough days and sadness, so having Louetta has been such a blessing for him and the whole family," they told Radar Online.
Rumer recently shared a sweet tribute to her daughter on social media as she posted a series of pictures from her birth.
She wrote: "I have waited and dreamed of you my whole life. You are more than I could have ever imagined. You have changed my life in the most profound way.
"It is the privilege and honor of my life to be your Mother and I will do everything and anything for you always," she wrote on Instagram.
The comments come as Bruce's wife Emma Heming Willis gave an update on her husband's health.
In a heartbreaking statement, the 44-year-old admitted treatment options for Bruce are remarkably "slim".
She made the admission after watching the documentary Little Empty Boxes, which focuses on Max Lugavere and his mother's battle with dementia.
"When you live the world of dementia you know that options are slim," Emma shared with fans on Instagram.
"But some won't take that lying down which is how change is made, and I got to witness the beauty in that last night."
Emma had attending a screening of the film and admitted the filmmaker's "love for his mother is powerful".
She continued: "His motivation to find answers from leading health experts is inspiring and then be so gracious to share that information is a true blessing."
