Bruce Springsteen, also known as 'The Boss,' recently made a triumphant return to the stage in Phoenix, AZ after a six-month hiatus to address his peptic ulcer disease. The iconic musician revealed that his health struggles almost led to his retirement, as the disease severely affected his ability to sing.
Springsteen, 74, shared that the pain in his diaphragm was so intense that he couldn't sing for a period of two to three months. This led to doubts about whether he would ever be able to perform again, considering singing is one of his greatest passions.
Fortunately, with the help of a dedicated medical team, Springsteen received the reassurance that he would recover. He expressed gratitude towards his doctors for their care and support during his challenging journey back to health.
In September 2023, Springsteen announced the postponement of his remaining tour dates for the year to focus on his treatment. Despite facing setbacks, he emphasized his steady recovery and expressed eagerness to reunite with his fans in the upcoming year.
Prior to resuming his tour, Springsteen surprised fans by joining John Mellencamp on stage for a performance in Newark, New Jersey. The enthusiastic collaboration delighted the audience and showcased Springsteen's enduring passion for music.
Springsteen's U.S. tour is set to continue through April before he embarks on a series of European dates. Following his international performances, he will return to the States in August for shows on the East Coast and in Canada.
