Bruce Springsteen fever has gripped Ireland as The Boss prepares to play three sold-out shows in Dublin’s RDS over the coming days.
As part of his 2023 tour, the 73-year-old and his E Street Band will take to the stage on Friday May 5, Sunday May 7 and Tuesday May 9.
He’s no stranger to the venue, having played it 11 times before.
The concerts are highly anticipated by Springsteen's devoted Irish fans, who have been eagerly waiting for his return since he last played here in 2016 at Croke Park.
Fans can expect to hear favourite hits, as well as some deeper cuts , high-energy covers and possibly even some new material.
In addition to his iconic hits, Springsteen is also known for his energetic and passionate live performances, which often last over three hours. His concerts are praised for their raw and emotional intensity, with Springsteen frequently engaging with the audience and sharing personal stories between songs.
While the official setlist for the Dublin shows has not been announced yet, fans are speculating about what they might hear.
Peter Aiken, of Aiken Promotions, yesterday hinted that not much will be changed from his previous setlists as he performs with an 18-piece band.
He explained: “There will be only one or two changes. The setlist will be the setlist. When you’ve got an 18-piece band, you can’t make too many changes. It’s okay when it’s The E Street Band on their own but when you’ve got a whole lot of brass section, an extra drummer… they just wouldn’t be up to speed with all the songs."
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band kicked off their European summer stadium tour last weekend in Barcelona.
Fans witnessed a pair of three-hour performances, which included staples like “Dancing In The Dark,” “Badlands” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” alongside tour debuts each night, high-energy covers and an opening night performance of “Glory Days” featuring Patti Scialfa with special guests Kate Capshaw and former US First Lady Michelle Obama.
Here's the setlist from his last show in Barcelona on April 30 and Irish fans can expect to hear similar at his shows here.
