Broxburn Athletic announce Stevie Pittman as new boss following Chris Townsley departure

Stevie Pittman has returned to Broxburn Athletic for a second spell as manager - eight years after ending his first stint at Albyn Park.

The 55-year-old former USA international managed the club between 2009-2015, having prevoiusly spent five successful years at Pumpherston.

During his last spell at the club he was assisted by current Livingston manager David Martindale while his son Scott - Livi’s record appearance holder - played for the Brox.

Pittman, who had been a youth coach at Livingston’s academy, takes over from Chris Townsley who stepped down on Hogmanay following a 5-1 home derby loss to Linlithgow Rose after nearly three years in charge.

He will be assisted by Derek McWilliams with Billy McPhee also joining the coaching staff.

The trio’s arrival means that caretaker boss Scott McNaughton, who had been Townsley’s assistant, has left the club.

Pittman’s second debut as Brox boss is scheduled for Saturday with a league clash away to fourth-placed Sauchie.
