The Browns enter the 2023 NFL season with arguably the highest expectations in recent memory. But Sunday provided at least a bit of a scare to Cleveland fans, as No. 1 wide receiver Amari Cooper left practice early on due to an injury.
Cooper has battled injuries throughout his career, but fortunately, it doesn’t appear to be serious. According to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot, Cooper left practice shortly after the start of training camp practice on Sunday.
Per Cabot, Browns’ general manager Andrew Berry said Cooper suffered a “minor tweak.” The injury is not related to the core muscle surgery the wide receiver had in February, and he’s considered day-to-day.
The big concern for Cleveland is the number of wide receivers currently sidelined. As Cabot detailed, Cooper could join a list that includes Marquise Goodwin, who is sidelined with blood clots, as well as Michael Woods II, Jakeem Grant and Anthony Schwartz.
