There is no replacement in the world for running back Nick Chubb. But the Cleveland Browns find themselves in the position to attempt to do the impossible after Chubb suffered a devastating and season-ending knee injury on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. And their first step toward filling that void on their roster was re-signing a familiar face in Kareem Hunt.
While Hunt made visits to the New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings, and Indianapolis Colts, he did not strike a deal with any of those running back needy teams. Instead, he signed a one-year deal worth up to $4 million to return to his old team and hometown in Cleveland. Jerome Ford will still be the starter, but Hunt gives the Browns proven depth behind their promising second-year back who will now be thrust into the starting role.

Kareem Hunt is going to be a really good 3rd down back that will really help Deshaun Watson, especially in pass protection.

I think Kareem hunt is the right answer for a couple reasons. He’s from the city, and he and Nick had a good bond. He’s going to run the ball extra hard and with a purpose for both reasons for the browns

As long as we can get a handful of runs like this from Kareem Hunt going forward, this run game should be fine.#Browns #DawgPound

It's worth noting again that Kareem Hunt does some of his best work in the redzone/goaline situations.
Over his previous stint in Cleveland he had 22 carries inside the 5 with 10 TDs. #DawgPound pic.twitter.com/HUUkeaMLUo

I'm glad that they chose Kareem Hunt over all other options. Not only is he familiar with the offense, but that man is going to run SO FREAKING HARD for Nick Chubb!
Now go out there and play with your ass on fire and earn yourself the future contract that you deserve! 💪 pic.twitter.com/Nq6BeTPcDE

Kareem Hunt makes sense because they needed a solution right away and he’s the familiar face.
I just hope he has some juice left in the tank.

even when Nick Chubb was healthy Kareem Hunt was my favorite football player; "I can get out of bed today". welcome back Kareem.

Great News!!…… I think you're going to see a different Kareem Hunt!
He's hungry,

I’m not a browns fan but that Kareem hunt signing might’ve just saved the team from being a complete disaster. Not saying Kareem hunt is a monster running back and will rush for 2000 yards, but you can tell the team is excited and rallying around it. Some new life in the lockers.

Due to my current RB status I am choosing to not believe anything the Browns say and believe Hunt will be the lead after week 3.

You can tell me Hunt wont move the needle etc. I get it. I am logical despite what I usually spout #onhere
…but can we just be fuckin happy for a sec? It’s been a tough week and for god sakes the nostalgia and hope Kareem brings is gettin me through. I needed it. #DawgPound
