According to PFF’s Ari Meirov, the Cleveland Browns stood pat at the trade deadline and did not make a move. This includes the swirling rumors around running back Kareem Hunt, who now remains in Cleveland for the last nine games of his contract. Meirov also reports the Browns were looking for a fourth round pick, but Hunt will now contribute toward a compensatory pick when he signs elsewhere this offseason.
Coming off of a win against the Cincinnati Bengals, and now sitting at 2-1 in the division, the Browns may feel like they are in a position to compete again in 2022. Entering their bye week on a high note, the Browns will likely need to win two of their next three to stay in the running for an AFC North title and wildcard contention.
Coming off of a game with 15 touches against the Bengals, Hunt may remain in the plans of the Cleveland offense after all.
Kareem Hunt is staying put in Cleveland. They wanted a 4.
