The Cleveland Browns added a defensive player to their practice squad Tuesday after the team announced it signed defensive tackle Chris Williams.
The 6-foot-2, 302-pound Williams spent time this season on the Kansas City practice squad. He previously played for the Indianapolis Colts during the past two seasons after going undrafted out of Wagner in 2020.
Williams tallied six combined tackles and one quarterback hit during his two seasons with the Colts. He played in 62 defensive snaps and 11 special teams snaps in 2021 and 45 defensive snaps and two special teams snaps in 2022.
While he may never see regular season action for Cleveland, Williams provides defensive tackle depth after the Browns lost a litany of linemen this year. Defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. landed on injured reserve this past week while fellow tackle Jordan Elliott remains questionable for Week 16 with a concussion.
