Browns release statement on the injury to RB D’Onta Foreman

A scary situation during today’s training camp practice for the Cleveland Browns, as running back D’Onta Foreman had to be taken off the field on a stretcher and airlifted to the hospital.

He took contact to the head and the Browns’ training staff responded appropriately. Since the injury to Foreman, the Browns have released the following statement on their new running back:

“During practice today, Browns RB D’Onta Foreman sustained a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain. The Browns athletic training staff deployed their standard emergency action procedures to immobilize Foreman. He was taken to an ambulance and is being transported via helicopter to a Medical Center in Roanoke, VA to undergo further medical evaluation. Foreman had movement in all his extremities. Updates will be provided as more information is received.”

Foreman is expected to fill the roster spot left by Kareem Hunt, taking over as the physical, short-yardage battering ram. When he has seen significant touches, Foreman has been an exceptionally efficient back. The Browns will hope to get him back on the field soon.

It’s great news that Foreman has movement in all of his extremities as we continue to wait for more updates on the veteran running back.
