Browns LB Jordan Hicks reveals injury was worse than reported

The Cleveland Browns are getting linebacker Jordan Hicks back into their starting lineup this week after missing the last three games before the bye week.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, however, the veteran linebacker revealed that his elbow and triceps injury was much worse than initially reported. Hicks, who avoided being placed on Injured Reserve, told the media that he spent two nights in the hospital following the loss to the New York Giants.

Hicks then stated that in addition to the elbow and triceps, he suffered broken ribs this season as well, but told himself to “leave the tank empty” in an attempt to play through the ailments. It became too much to play through, however, but he will return this week against the New Orleans Saints.

Youngster Mohamoud Diabate filled in valiantly for Hicks in his absence, and will now slide over to WILL linebacker for Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who has to miss the next three games after being placed on IR.
