The Cleveland Browns dropped to 1-2 in the 2022 preseason with another 21-20 loss, but this time to the Chicago Bears. While the Browns had a few highlights, most of them occurred in the second half as the bottom of the roster turned their play up a notch to earn a roster spot.
For the Browns, some of the same issues we have been seeing continued, but overall there were enough positives to allow me to sleep soundly throughout the night.
In the end, the Chicago Bears outlasted Cleveland, but we did finally get a look at Jacoby Brissett
A few key takeaways for the Browns from Sunday:
Alex Wright is the real deal
I was somewhat skeptical of the selection of Alex Wright as I did not perceive him to be a ready-made day one contributor, but the dude has proven me wrong. Wright has consistently shown why the Browns selected him and he looks like a day one player.
Can’t ask for a better series from Alex Wright

What is wrong with Anthony Schwartz?
Anthony Schwartz has had a terrible preseason and has dropped more passes than he has caught. I don’t think he is going to get cut, because they invested too high of a draft pick in him and the receiving corps is so thin, but he is not a reliable weapon and seems to be getting worse.
By my count…Anthony Schwartz recorded 6 drops in 3 preseason games. 👀
I think he's officially on the #Browns "Roster Bubble".

Jacoby Brissett didn't light the world on fire
This was the first time we saw Jacoby Brissett throw for the Cleveland Browns in live action and he was a tad underwhelming in completing 13 of 23 passes for 109 yards and an interception. I for one am not worried, but there were too many tweets discussing a potential quarterback competition to ignore. Joshua Dobbs has looked good all preseason, but to me, it seems like this staff is fairly confident in Brissett.
