Browns deemed highly unlikely to move Pro Bowler despite report

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is not going anywhere as the NFL trade deadline nears.

Despite a report from ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio that indicated the Browns would be open to moving their Pro Bowl tight end “for the right price,” that rumor has now been debunked by Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.

Bleacher Report’s NFL insider wrote that “despite receiving interest, the Browns are ‘highly unlikely’ to trade him… Cleveland views [Njoku] as a part of its long-term future.”

Njoku is a core locker room guy who has developed the right way with the Browns despite almost being boxed out by two different regime changes.

This would indicate the Browns are more interested in reloading rather than rebuilding after a down season, sitting at 2-7. They are comfortable with their cap situation despite the contract of quarterback Deshaun Watson, they have 11 draft picks to now move around, and they still have a solid core of young players to build around.

Don’t expect any of them to be moved before 4 PM Tuesday.
