The Browns’ addition of wide receiver Elijah Moore caught plenty of attention this offseason. Now with training camp underway, it appears Moore’s presence and playmaking ability has caught the attention of his teammates, as well.
Moore, who was acquired along with a third-round pick by Cleveland in exchange for a second-rounder, spent the first two seasons of his NFL career with the Jets. He impressed as a rookie, catching 43 passes for 538 yards and five touchdowns in just 11 games.
With just a few practices under his belt as a member of the Browns, it was cornerback Greg Newsome who offered some extremely high praise for his new teammate.
“The NFL better watch out. He’s one of the best that I’ve honestly been against, and I’m not just saying that because he’s on my team … he’s a great route runner, he has speed, so I’m definitely super excited,” Newsome said, via Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot.

Moore should pair nicely with Amari Cooper, who’s coming off an impressive year in 2022. Whether a change of scenery can set Moore up for a career breakout remains to be seen, but based on the flashes NFL fans saw from the 23-year-old over the past two seasons, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see a career year in ’23.
