The Cleveland Browns have a need, a need for speed to be added to their passing game in 2024. The team has met with several of the top pass catchers in the 2024 NFL draft, including a meeting this week with Texas Longhorns speedster Xavier Worthy at the NFL Scouting Combine.
What a combine for Worthy, who set the NFL Combine record with a 4.21-second 40-yard dash to break the record held by John Ross. It’s what the Browns offense is missing to help take it to a new level, a guy with great speed who knows how to use it as a weapon.
With all the talent at the position the Browns should be able to add a dynamic playmaker to their offense and Worthy could be towards the top of their list. He is a smaller player and can struggle against press-man coverage but his ability to beat a defense over the top will translate at the next level resulting in explosive plays time after time. You add in the fact he will only be 21 years old this season, he will be high on Andrew Berry’s board of targets.
