Brooklyn Beckham breaks his silence after £1million Superdry contract is 'abruptly axed'

Brooklyn Beckham has broken his social media silence after it was announced his contract with Superdry was "abruptly axed".

David and Victoria Beckham's 23-year-old son was announced as the brand's newest ambassador in November.

As the news was revealed Brooklyn shared snaps of him sporting some Superdry hoodies on his Instagram and wrote in the caption: "With our mutual passion for the future of sustainable fashion, excited to introduce my new collaboration with @superdry".

But, just eight months into the collaboration between the fashion brand and Brooklyn has come to an "abrupt end".

A spokesperson for Superdry told the Mail on Sunday that they had decided to axe their working relationship with Brooklyn as they said: "Superdry works with a range of brand ambassadors and enjoyed working with Brooklyn during the launch of our new flagship Oxford Street store and during our Autumn/Winter 21 campaign.

"We always review the ambassadors who feature in our campaigns and decided to work with a different range of talent for Spring/Summer 22."

Brooklyn has since broken his silence on social media, deciding to focus on celebrating his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham's career highlights rather than his own troubles.

He posted a photo of his wife holding up a copy of Tatler magazine, where she can be seen posing on the cover on his Instagram story.

"Such a proud husband xx So proud of you @nicolapeltzbeckham you look so gorgeous xx love you so much" followed by two red heart emojis.

During her interview, Nicola discussed her husband's career. Brooklyn had initially hoped to become a professional footballer like his dad, but was dropped by Arsenal's youth club team before he turned 16.

He has also tried to make a career as a photographer, barista and a chef.

Speaking about Brooklyn's attempts at breaking into the culinary industry, Nicola said: "You can tell that when Brooklyn’s in the kitchen he’s in heaven."

Nicola added that Brooklyn felt "a lot of pressure to please people with his career and he didn’t love it".

However, Nicola insisted Brooklyn found his calling in the kitchen, following his Facebook Watch show Cookin' with Brooklyn.

"Ever since the pandemic, all he’s wanted to talk about is being in the kitchen, so I just started filming him one day. I said, 'This is what you love,'" Nicola explained.

Nicola also revealed that her husband turns to his new father-in-law for business advice and has "exciting things" coming up.

She said: "Brooklyn is getting into very exciting things with his shows and also business things and it’s really sweet. I watch him call my dad and say, 'What do you think about this?' I love watching him learn from my dad."

Brooklyn and Nicola wed in April this year, where 500 guests attended a three day long extravaganza at Nicola's family's Palm Beach estate.
