Brooke Vincent jokes Helen Flanagan is a 'd***head' for saying she needs lip filler

Brooke Vincent has recalled the brutally honest way Helen Flanagan once suggested she should get a little tweakment.

The mum-of-two jokingly branded her on-screen sister a 'd***head' for previously encouraging her to get a bit of lip filler.

Brooke, 29, played Sophie Webster on Coronation Street from 2004 to 2019, while Helen took on the role of her older sister Rosie from 2000 to 2012 - returning for another stint in 2017.

Reminiscing about some of their on-set conversations over the years, Brooke revealed to newly-engaged Vicky Pattison how her soap sibling greeted her upon her return to the ITV soap after a five year break.

Speaking on the former Geordie Shore star's podcast, the actress recalled what Helen had proposed: "Darling, you're so b****y beautiful, gorgeous honestly, but Dr Nyla [Raja, one of the UK's top cosmetic doctors] can put some filler in that top lip!"

Mum-of-three Helen then added: "You've grown up to be so beautiful but you could really sort that top lip out!"

Brooke went on to jokingly quip: "Thanks Helen, nice to see you too, d***head!"

Elsewhere in the candid chat, Vicky, 34, asked her soap star guest how she felt about tackling her famous storyline regarding her character's sexuality.

Brooke was 16-years-old when her on-screen counterpart Sophie embarked on her first lesbian relationship.

"Nowadays we have lot of diverse characters, which is amazing. When they came to me about that story line, I just started college, and I thought, 'oh my God no one spoke about the fact of being lesbian or straight…'" Brooke recalled when looking back on the plot.

"A lot of people battled with this alone and had no one to reference so it was a massive honour."

The conversation also included a chat about the star's relationship with motherhood and birth.

Brooke and her footballer beau welcomed their first son into the world November 2019, naming him Mexx S J Bryan.

Just two months before she was due to return to the set of Coronation Street, the star announced her second pregnancy - with son Monrie S J Bryan being born on 4 May 2021.

Speaking with the Mirror last year, Brooke revealed she had a "scary out of body experience" while giving birth to her second child.

"It was more of an out-of-body experience," she said of the traumatic birth.

"You’re so tired and out of it. I knew something was going on but I also knew I was in the best place and the staff were amazing.

"With Mexx we both cried, but I think with Monroe we were in a bit of shock."

She added: "Giving birth is a really hard and daunting experience, but it’s also beautiful. When I’m in a situation like that where I’m a bit scared, Kean is really good with me."
