Irish Eurovision star Brooke Scullion has shared a sweet post reflecting on her friendship with her new "bestie" commentator Marty Whelan.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter is from Bellaghy, Co Derry took to Twitter and shared a string of photos captioned: “The real love story of ESC 2022.”
When Ireland’s semi-final results were revealed, Whelan was excited but absolutely devastated when Brooke didn’t get through.

In the pics, the two Irish legends are seen posing side by side at the Eurovision.
Back in February, Brooke won the Eurosong Special of The Late Late Show which led to her being chosen to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.
Brooke sang the song ‘That's Rich’ and gave a spirited performance at the second Eurovision semi-final.
There was widespread disappointment across Ireland and Europe when Brooke didn’t qualify for the final, but nonetheless, Brooke delivered a knock-out performance and won more fans.
A finalist on The Voice UK in 2020, Brooke Scullion co-wrote That's Rich with Karl Zine and Izzy Warner and has since been earmarked by BBC Introducing as one to watch on the British pop scene.

In an interview with The Six O'clock Show, Brooke shared: "I watched it back the day after and I was feeling pretty sorry for myself.
"I watched it back, trying to find faults, and I just couldn't because it was actually so impressive. I'm so proud of myself."
Several fans took to Twitter in the aftermath of the contest reacting to Marty’s response to Brooke not qualifying..
One said: “What a load of sh*** I agree with Marty Whelan of all years Ireland definitely deserved to qualify this year.
“We had a better song and better Artist than half of those who went through. Well done to Brooke though she gave it everything.”
Another said: “Somebody needs to lift Marty Whelan off the floor. I've never heard him sound so disappointed and he's had plenty of practice in recent years. Really hard luck for Brooke.”
A third said: “Marty Whelan makes the #eurovision The sarcasm and comments….it’s needed.”
