Broncos WR Courtland Sutton: ‘We can compete with anybody’

The Denver Broncos (5-3) will face their toughest test of the season thus far when they go on the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens (5-3) on Sunday.

The Broncos are considered big underdogs, and team captain Courtland Sutton wouldn’t have it any other way.

“We’re a team that can contend in this division,” Sutton said Wednesday. “I think that a lot of people write us off based upon the personnel that we have on our team, and that’s completely fine. We love that. We love going into these games being underdogs — as I said last week, going into these games with people not having as much confidence in us being successful as we do in ourselves.

“We know that if we go out there and perform the way we know how to perform, execute and minimize the negative plays and the things that can hurt us, we feel like we can compete with anybody.”

Denver knows Sunday’s showdown won’t be an easy matchup, but pulling off an upset win would be huge for the program.

“You learn a lot about yourself and about your team [in this kind of game],” quarterback Bo Nix said. “Ultimately, going on the road, competing and winning a game like this [would be] special for an organization, too. It’s not going to be easy, but we’re going to be ready.”

Sunday’s game will be regionally televised on CBS (TV broadcast map).
