Broncos will be without tight end Greg Dulcich for Week 2 vs. Commanders

The Denver Broncos will be without a key offensive player for their Week 2 meeting against the Washington Commanders. Second-year tight end Greg Dulcich will miss “multiple weeks” with a hamstring injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Dulcich, a third-round pick in 2022 from UCLA, caught two passes for 22 yards in the season-opener against the Raiders before departing with an injury. It’s the same hamstring that cost Dulcich a total of seven games during his rookie season.

In 10 games as a rookie, Dulcich caught 33 passes for 411 yards and two touchdowns. There was hope that Dulcich would have a breakout season under new head coach Sean Payton in 2023.

Dulcich was No. 2 on Denver’s depth chart at tight end behind veteran Adam Trautman. With Dulcich out for the foreseeable future, the Broncos have Trautman, Chris Manhertz and undrafted rookie Nate Adkins.

Against Washington in Week 1, the Arizona Cardinals targeted their tight ends 13 times, with Trey McBride and Zach Ertz combining for eight receptions for 44 yards.
