The head-coaching circuit begins for Kansas City Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy on Friday.
The Denver Broncos reportedly requested an interview with Bieniemy for their head-coaching vacancy on Jan. 10th. We now know exactly when that interview will be taking place.
Broncos GM George Paton and his hiring committee will be in Kansas City on Friday to interview Bieniemy according to a report from 9 News’ Mike Klis. Bieniemy is the final interview for Denver in a search with 10 known candidates. He’ll get a chance to make the final impression before Paton and the Broncos hiring committee will “regroup” and begin their second round of interviews with their finalist candidates.
And then after Bieniemy, Paton and his commitee regroup. Source says possibility of 2nd round of interviews with 1 or more candidates is still up in the air. #9sports https://t.co/9gIji7TXmR

The Chiefs are set for meetings and practice into Friday afternoon as they prepare to face the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs. After interviewing for 13 head-coaching positions over the past three seasons, Bieniemy has this down to a science. He’s locked in and focused on the task at hand, as he reiterated during Thursday’s media availability.
“I think I would bring a lot to the table,” Bieniemy said of his head-coaching candidacy. “At this particular time, the only thing I’m thinking about is what are we going to do to take care of Buffalo? I think that’s the most important thing. I don’t want to sidetrack anything from what we’re trying to accomplish and what we’re working on this week. . . My job, right now, is to make sure that we stay focused on what’s important and that’s making sure our guys are ready for practice tomorrow.”
After his coaching responsibilities for the day are over, expect the Broncos to conduct their interview with Bieniemy, likely over dinner. Typically, these interviews will last anywhere from 4-5 hours.
