With the NFL offseason officially underway, the attention now turns to the NFL draft and free agency. With the Russell Wilson fiasco putting a stain on the 2023 Denver Broncos season, it appears the team will be in the market for a quarterback this spring.
Joel Klatt of Fox Sports has the team landing their next quarterback via the draft. Klatt’s most recent NFL mock draft has the Broncos selecting Nix with the 12th overall pick in the first round.
“It might be a little high to select Nix, but he fits that mold perfectly,” Klatt wrote for Fox Sports. “He’s an experienced, smart, point guard-style and accurate passer. Maybe the Broncos can move back to pick Nix, but they have to select him in the first round because they don’t have a second-round pick.”
Maybe for Broncos head coach Sean Payton, potentially drafting Nix will provide him with a young quarterback who best fits his offense. Although hypothetical, Nix could be a great replacement for Wilson in 2024.
