Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at rookie cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, No. 31.
Before the Broncos: Abrams-Draine (5-11, 179 pounds) was a four-year player at the University of Missouri from 2020-2023, appearing in 44 games across his collegiate career.
Abrams-Draine recorded 141 total tackles (105 solo, 36 assisted), 3.5 tackles for loss, nabbed seven interceptions and broke up 34 passes. He also recorded one forced fumble and recovered one fumble during his tenure with the Tigers.
Broncos tenure: Abrams-Draine was selected by the Broncos in the fifth round (145th overall pick) of the 2024 NFL draft. He later signed a four-year rookie deal with the team in May.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Likely. Abrams-Draine already has the support of his former number holder, Justin Simmons. Now, Abrams-Draine has to earn the respect and recognition of his coaches. He could earn playing time as a rotational defensive back or win a role on special teams. Either way, Abrams-Draine seems likely to make the active roster as a rookie.
