Family members of the Denver Broncos will have to celebrate Christmas a little early (or a little late) this year.
The Broncos are set to travel to California this weekend for a Christmas Day showdown with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
“Someone has to do it, and it will be us,” coach Nathaniel Hackett said. “I’m very excited and honored for this team to be able to play on this day. It will be a great opportunity for them to get on TV again and go against a great team in the Los Angeles Rams.
“My kids aren’t happy about it because it’s on Christmas, but we’ll make sure that we get the morning on the day before so the guys can spend some time with their families.”
The Broncos have played on Christmas just three times in their history, posting a 2-1 record in those contests. Denver will hope to improve to 3-1 when they take on the Rams in L.A. this weekend.
