Finally, some good news on the injury front for the Denver Broncos.
Second-year running back Javonte Williams “did not suffer nerve or cartilage damage” in his knee, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. That’s good news for the running back’s road to recovery.
Williams tore his ACL and LCL in Week 4 and he’ll face a tough recovery road, but it could have been worse. There’s still no guarantee that the running back will be ready by Week 1 in 2023, but this is a good sign.
Williams, who was placed on injured reserve last week, will undergo surgery this week, according to Fowler.
Williams is one of three Broncos starters who have suffered season-ending ACL injuries this season, joining wide receiver Tim Patrick and cornerback Ronald Darby. Denver has been hit extremely hard by injuries this year, and fans will be left to hope that Williams and his teammates will be able to fully recover and return to form for next season.
