Russell Wilson, baseball player?
Once in the Colorado Rockies farm system before enrolling into the University of Wisconsin as a graduate student, Wilson’s now back in the batter’s box.
Don’t worry, though. Wilson’s simply recording scenes for his upcoming appearance on season 3 of Peyton’s Places. The show airs on ESPN+ and features, you bet, Peyton Manning.
Donning the Rockies’ purple pinstripes in a clip shared by MLB’s official Twitter account, Wilson and Manning are seen walking out of the clubhouse into the dugout. Later in the clip, the duo are on the diamond reading over their script. By the look of things, Manning’s an intense method actor. Wilson, meanwhile, is gingerly looking over the script as well. A less-is-more approach, based on his demeanor.
Toward the end of the 19-second clip, Manning’s back on the diamond solo. He’s donning batting gloves during an extreme close-up with the recording cameras, while Wilson’s taking practice swings in the on-deck circle. All of this took place before the actual Rockies lined up for the first pitch of their game last Thursday. Keep an eye out for Wilson’s appearance on Peyton’s Places this season. Meanwhile, check out more footage below.
