After trailing the Chicago Bears 28-7 in the third quarter of Sunday’s game, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson led a comeback. The Broncos ended up winning 31-28, marking Wilson’s 32nd career comeback win.
Wilson now ranks 10th on the NFL’s all-time list for career fourth-quarter comeback wins (including playoffs), one spot behind John Elway (35).
Buy Broncos Tickets“When the game is on the line, that’s when you got to love it most,” Wilson said on Sunday. “That’s when you got to love it most. You got to have great belief and you got to have no fear. The biggest thing about winning and winning in comeback games and all that, it’s everybody. It’s not just you. Everybody staying poised, everybody believing.
“[I’ve] had some great moments in my career, but that was one of my favorite ones. I remember I had one my rookie year here. It was a great matchup going down 99 yards. I just had that in the back of my head, we were going to win in game and we believed it the whole third and fourth [quarter]. We just believed it, everybody did, and we all did that together.”
Tom Brady (55) ranks No. 1 on the all-time list, followed by Peyton Manning (45). Wilson has a ways to go before catching those all-time greats, but ranking in the top-10 is no small feat. The 34-year-old quarterback also became the first player in NFL history with 5,000 career rushing yards and 40,000 career passing yards earlier this season.
After a disappointing season under Nathaniel Hackett in 2022, Wilson is having a bounce-back year under Sean Payton this fall.
