The mother of Brisbane Broncos player Payne Haas has been charged with a fresh drink driving offence related to a fatal traffic crash in December 2022.
Uiatu "Joan" Taufua, 46, faced the Southport Magistrates Court today via video link from the Southern Queensland Correctional Centre.
She is charged with three counts of manslaughter and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police and driving without a licence.
Ms Taufua has also been charged with a drink driving offence related to the crash since her case was last mentioned in January.
Ms Taufua is the sole survivor of the crash at Bonogin in which Susan Zimmer, 70, her partner Chris Fawcett, 79, and Ms Zimmer's daughter Steffanie died on December 30 last year.
Ms Taufua's lawyer Sophie Dagg told the court a partial brief of evidence had been disclosed on March 5 but there was more to be examined and requested a seven-week adjournment.
Magistrate Kerry Magee remanded Ms Taufua in custody until the case returns to court on April 27.
Speaking outside court, Ms Dagg said her client was "highly remorseful".
"They're very tragic circumstances," Ms Dagg said.
"We just have our thoughts with the families that are involved."
