Broncos met with CB Reddy Steward at the Hula Bowl

The Denver Broncos met with Reddy Steward at the Hula Bowl in Orlando last month, the cornerback said during a recent interview with Justin Melo of The Draft Network. He had a similar visit with the Chicago Bears.

“I feel like those two teams stood out to me because they actually made me get on the whiteboard. We wrote down a couple of my plays as I showcased my football IQ,” Steward told Melo.

“We went through multiple positions on the whiteboard with the Broncos and Bears. When I met with the Broncos, they were asking me questions about playing the nickel. I didn’t play a lot of nickel this past season, my senior season, but I think they were impressed with my knowledge of the nickel position. I spent more time with the Broncos and Bears than anybody else.”

Steward (5-11, 173 pounds) spent five seasons at Troy, totaling 181 tackles (nine behind the line of scrimmage), 32 pass breakups, nine interceptions, three defensive touchdowns and 2.5 sacks in 58 games. He seems to be a late-round prospect, one Denver might consider as a slot cornerback depth option.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27. The Broncos currently hold six picks, and they hope to acquire more.
