Broncos’ Kareem Jackson Ejected for Extremely Dirty Hit on Commanders TE Logan Thomas

After receiving a fine for an illegal hit in Week 1, Broncos defensive back Kareem Jackson could be subjected to another infraction this week following his ejection against the Commanders.

Jackson, for a second week in a row, drew the ire of the officiating crew after unleashing a devastating hit on Commanders tight end Logan Thomas. Jackson’s hit came with 1:47 left in the first half, when the veteran DB launched into Thomas in mid-air as he extended for the ball in the end zone.

Thomas secured the catch but took a shot squarely in the head and neck area from Jackson, resulting in a subsequent ejection just before halftime. Thomas managed to walk off the field under his own power to be evaluated for a concussion.

Thomas was later ruled out of the game with a concussion:

Sunday’s unfortunate scene marks the second time Jackson’s actions have come into question on this season. Against the Raiders in Week 1, Jackson was issued a 15-yard penalty for an illegal hit on Las Vegas receiver Jakobi Meyers, a dirty play that resulted in a concussion for Meyers and a $14,819 fine from the NFL.

With Meyers, who missed Week 2 with his injury, and Thomas now on the receiving end of dirty hits, there’s a good chance Jackson could receive more, perhaps even harsher, discipline from the NFL prior to Week 3.
