The Denver Broncos have invited Seattle Sea Dragons quarterback Ben DiNucci to try out at their rookie minicamp, the XFL announced Wednesday.
DiNucci (6-2, 222 pounds) played college football at Pittsburgh and James Madison before being selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft. He dressed for three games as a rookie and started one game as an injury fill-in that season.
After spending the 2021 season on the Cowboys’ practice squad, DiNucci failed to make their active roster or practice squad in 2022. After a year away from football, the 26-year-old QB joined the XFL this spring.
DiNucci led the XFL with 2,671 passing yards this year and ranked second in the league with 20 touchdowns. He also led the XFL with 13 interceptions.
DiNucci is one of three known XFL players who have received minicamp invites from the Broncos. He is also the second known quarterback, joining San Diego’s Judd Erickson. We are tracking all of the team’s minicamp invites on this page.
