Broncos injuries: P.J. Locke estimated non-participant Wednesday

Denver Broncos safety P.J. Locke (ankle) was listed as an estimated non-participant Wednesday.

Locke had a walking boot on his left foot after Monday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The safety told reporters that he thought he would be OK, according to The Denver Post‘s Parker Gabriel.

Denver’s safety depth improved this week when Kareem Jackson returned on Tuesday following the conclusion of his two-game suspension. If Locke is not able to play this week, Jackson would be the obvious candidate to start across from Justin Simmons in the secondary.

The Broncos did not practice on Wednesday but the NFL requires teams who play on Sunday to release injury reports on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so Denver released an estimated injury report.

The team’s complete (estimated) injury report from Wednesday can be seen below.

Player Wed* Thur Fri Game Status
DB P.J. Locke (ankle) DNP
OL Ben Powers (foot) DNP
OLB Baron Browning (wrist/knee) Limited
WR Marvin Mims (ankle) Limited
OLB Ronnie Perkins (quad) Full

Because they’re coming off a Monday Night Football game, the Broncos plan to practice on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week.

Denver will host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in Week 11. The Broncos are considered slight betting favorites at home.
